Deep Processing Of Slag And Recycling Of Slag

In 2017, the national industrial solid waste output was 1.2 billion tons, and the comprehensive utilization rate was only 55.7%. Slag is the main solid waste that affects the environmental load of black metallurgy industry. In 2017, China made 272 million tons of steel and produced 146.19 million tons of smelting waste (including 50 million tons of steel slag and 90 million tons of blast furnace slag). With the comprehensive utilization of 128.48 million tons and the accumulation over the years, the total storage capacity is 200 million tons, covering an area of 30000 mu. The open-air storage of smelting waste occupies the land, pollutes the toxic soil, water and atmosphere, seriously affects the ecological environment, resulting in obvious or potential economic loss and good source waste. It is estimated that the economic loss per ton of smelting waste is 14.25 yuan, resulting in an annual economic loss of 2.85 billion yuan. Therefore, the harmless and multi-source treatment of smelting waste is the focus that our country and even the world attach great importance to, and also one of the central contents of promoting circular economy.  

At present, the proportion of multi-source processing of slag in China is relatively low, accounting for only 4.3% in 2017. There are still 95.7% or 150 million tons of slag that need grinding and deep processing, with heavy tasks and broad market prospects. At present, the technology and equipment of grinding and deep processing in China are very backward compared with developed countries. The comprehensive utilization of slag in cement industry has gone through three stages.  

The second stage is from 1995 to 2000. The influence of ground slag powder on the durability of HPC abroad has attracted the attention and imitation of domestic scholars. As a high admixture of concrete, slag powder is gradually popularized and used in construction engineering. However, due to the requirement that the specific surface area of slag powder should be more than 600 m2 / kg, there are only a few domestic enterprises. The main reason is: at that time, the slag powder production plant with an annual output of 300000 tons was almost all imported foreign vertical mill production lines, the imported equipment was expensive, and the production line was put in quite large investment. Take the production line with an annual output of 300000 tons of slag powder as an example, at least 50 million yuan should be invested at one time.

The third stage is after 2000, with the development of energy-saving technology of grinding equipment and economic technology of slag powder application, the majority of cement enterprises realize that the economic grinding fineness of slag powder should be controlled at about 400m2 / kg. All kinds of grinding equipment can produce slag powder with different market demands and obtain corresponding economic benefits. With the increase of industrial structure adjustment policy of cement industry and the promotion of circular economy, the output of slag powder has doubled year by year. At present, the annual output is close to 10 million tons. A new industry in building materials industry is gradually forming.
