The impact crusher can be divided into single rotor and double rotor according to the number of rotors. The impact crusher uses the plate hammer on the high-speed rotating rotor to produce high-speed impact on the materials into the crushing chamber, and then the materials are crushed. Along the tangent direction, the materials are thrown to the impact plate at the other end of the crushing chamber at high speed and then broken again. For the structure and shape of the impact crusher, the motor drives the rotor to rotate at high speed through the V-belt, and the materials are sent into the crushing chamber through the feeding port, which is impacted by the plate hammer at high speed, and the fragments are thrown to the front impact plate at high speed. At this point, it is impacted and broken again, then rebounded to the rotor, and then impacted by the plate hammer and thrown to the second impact plate. A second crushing chamber is formed between the second impact plate and the rotor and the above crushing process is repeated. The material is finally discharged from the lower part of the crusher. In the crushing chamber, apart from the impact crushing of materials, hammers and impact plates, the high-speed material particles also impact each other to produce crushing effect.

Hammer crusher has a similar structure with impact crusher. According to the number of rotors, it can also be divided into two types: single rotor and double rotor. According to the permitted rotation direction of the rotor, the rotor can only rotate in one direction is called irreversible, and the rotor can rotate in both positive and negative directions is called reversible. In addition, according to the different structure, it can also be divided into impact hammer crusher, vertical shaft hammer crusher, hammer crusher and ring hammer crusher. The hammer can be hinged on the pin shaft between the discs, and can move on the pin shaft. The motor drives the hammer to rotate at high speed through the main shaft, disc and pin shaft. The main shaft, disc, pin shaft and the whole part of the hammer are called rotor. A sieve plate is set at the lower part of the rotor. The particles smaller than the sieve hole size in the crushed materials are discharged through the sieve hole. The materials larger than the sieve hole size remain on the sieve plate and continue to be hit and grinded by the hammer until they are finally discharged through the sieve plate.

Impact crusher is mainly used as medium and fine crushing equipment of various minerals, and also as coarse crushing equipment. The impact crusher has the characteristics of high crushing ratio (generally 30-40, very large up to 150) - high crushing efficiency, less over crushing phenomenon, strong adaptability, light volume and weight of equipment, simple structure, easy manufacturing, convenient maintenance, etc. The main disadvantage of impact crusher is that the plate hammer wears fast when crushing hard ore.
